We’re the Dryland Ecology and Management Lab, a team of plant and soil ecologists working on basic and applied, cross-scale ecological questions, all to make dryland and rangeland ecosystems more resilient to global change.
We are a collaborative group that focuses on exploring fundamental questions in dryland ecosystems, how these ecosystems respond to global change, and how we can apply that knowledge to support land managers and decision makers in this changing world.
We study how plants, animals, and soil interact in drylands, and how these interactions will change with disturbance and restoration.
We work with stakeholders to translate our findings into effective management practices.
We see drylands as a part of a bigger system, so we work to build connections between ecosystems and society.
